You make hundreds of choices every week. Some are conscious, others are shaped by beliefs, roles, standards, and patterns that can become so familiar you don’t notice how much influence they have.
You may recognize several of these patterns in yourself.
Answer from who you are right now, not who you’re working toward becoming. Choose what is most true today, even when another answer sounds more like the version of you you want to be.
That difference matters.

Sound Familiar?
Maybe you’ve caught yourself thinking:
“I know what I want. I just keep choosing what makes sense.”
“I can see the pattern and somehow still watch myself repeat it.”
“People depend on me, but I don’t know when I became responsible for everyone.”
“I do good work, but it never quite feels done enough.”
“I keep becoming the person the room needs and losing track of what I need.”
“I don’t think I’m afraid. I just always seem to have a very good reason not to move.”
“My life is working. I’m just starting to wonder whether I want the next few years to look the same.”
Each of those thoughts points to something underneath the decision itself: a belief, identity, role, standard, or familiar way of operating that may already be influencing the choice.
Who’s Directing Your Life? helps you recognize what may be getting a vote before you consciously decide what happens next.
Once you can see what’s operating, you have access to something you didn’t have before.
Choice.
SCENE 1 OF 12
An opportunity appears that would ask more of you than what you’ve done before. What happens first?
Someone asks what you really want next. Not what would be responsible, impressive, or expected. What do you notice?
Someone gives you meaningful recognition for something you did exceptionally well. What happens internally?
Something happens that emotionally activates you. The reaction is real and immediate. What are you most likely to do?
Think of something you want to begin, change, create, or pursue. Which response is closest to what tends to happen?
Someone whose opinion matters to you strongly disagrees with a choice you’ve made. What happens next?
You look back at the last few weeks and realize something you meant to make time for keeps getting pushed aside. What has usually been taking its place?
You’re invited into greater visibility. Maybe it’s a stage, a meeting, a camera, a conversation, or simply a moment when more people will see you. What comes up?
Someone asks something of you that conflicts with what you need or want. Which response is most familiar?
If someone only looked at how you actually spend your time, what would they assume matters most to you?
There’s a decision you know you eventually need to make. What is most likely to keep it open?
Imagine ten years passing and this way of operating never really changing. Which possibility hits you hardest?
One Last Thing
Which of these feels closest to what you most want to become more conscious of right now?
One More Question.
What is one part of your life where you can feel yourself wanting something different, even if you can’t fully explain what “different” is yet?
One or two sentences is plenty. Write it the way you would actually say it.
