Last week I bought a lottery ticket at the gas station. I never buy a scratch-off, but for some reason I was so inclined to do it. I left it in my car and when I picked up my son and he was driving I decided to see if I won.
I scratched the bonus number of $277K and it said get 2 of the same and win. I won the lottery! My son stopped the car so he could see and we just laughed together while he drove us around and I called my sister and my mom and told her that I was going to pay for her school and she wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.
My son said how does it feel? I said kind of the same, I've always felt RICH, but right now I feel so much Joy because I know exactly what I can do with this extra money: help my mom and sisters and give a scholarship to moms in their first year of community college like someone helped me once before.
My heart felt so joyous about the GIVING, not the money. I said OMG this is what winning the lottery is like! This is the FEELING.
My mom cried and I cried and THEN we found out I was not a winner. LOL
I tell you this because I now know what it FEELS like to win the lottery. For those 15 mins I truly believed I had won. It was amazing! The feeling was so incredible because so much generosity was coming from it. So when I realized I won $10 and not $277K it was so FUNNY to me because I was SOOOOO thankful that I was able to feel what it felt like just for that moment right there.
My actual winning was the thought lottery! I already knew I had this, but this experience 10x'd it.
It wasn't about the money, it was about the giving. Now that I know the feeling I can tap INTO it at any time. Truly tap into it and that means I won the lottery in so many other ways.
It also just mirrored my heart to me and my son. We had so much joy thinking about giving. It was SO much fun and I'm so thankful because when I create an extra $277K I know it's going to feel even better!
